First Year Day Out!
First year students accompanied by their year head and class teacher had a wonderful day out just before Christmas as a reward and recognition of their hard work and enthusiasm last term. They travelled to Courtown for bowling and crazy golf. It was a great opportunity for them to celebrate as a year group and they thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Trip to the cinema!
Second and third year students enjoyed a morning out recently to Arklow cinema. They went to see ‘Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them’. The trip was organised for the students by their year heads to reward students’ excellent work and behaviour last term. These trips are held twice yearly and students are always very keen to be included.
Meeting an Irish Sports star.
On Wednesday the 14th of December our principal Ms Kearns accompanied by two second year students Michelle Bertsch and Aida Urbanaviciute to meet Ronnie Delany at the Arklow Municipal Centre. He spoke about his 1500m Olympic win in 1956. The students said that Mr. Delany was a very funny and engaging man and “we took pictures and shook hands with him”. “We also got to watch his race from an old recording”. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience of meeting a wonderful Irish sports star. In fact one of our 6th year classes are named after him!
