A new school year and it was wonderful to welcome over ninety first year students to the school. We also extend a warm welcome to new students’ in other year groups and to students visiting from other countries for the year. We would also like to welcome our new Deputy Principal Mr. Cloney with a wealth of experience in education and look forward to working with him in the years ahead. We are also very excited to offer new additional subjects including Spanish, Music and Religion (as an exam subject).
First Year Induction
As part of the extensive first year induction programme a meeting took place for the parents and guardians of the first year students last week. A large group of enthusiastic parents attended and were given information to help them support their son/daughter as they transfer from primary to secondary school. Also as part of this programme the first year students enjoyed a Friendship Bonding Day on Friday. This gave the students a chance to get to know each other and help reduce anxiety in the move. The students got involved in a number of team building activities. The feedback was very positive and the students thoroughly enjoyed the day.
