Warm Welcome

Warm Welcome
There were lots of welcomes to be made in Glenart College last week as the new school year commenced. First of all the staff and students extended a big warm Arklow welcome to our new Principal Ms. Louise Kearns and Deputy Principal Ms.Brid Keeley. Both Ms. Kearns and Ms. Keeley are joining the school with a wealth of teaching and school management experience and we are really looking forward to working with them.
Secondly we welcome Ms. Anne-Marie Clerkin and Ms. Judy Byrne who will join the special needs assistant team in the school.
A very big welcome also to all our first year students who are already settling in and enjoying their first days at Glenart College. Exciting times ahead!

First Year Induction
As part of the extensive first year induction programme a meeting took place for the parents and guardians of the first year students in the school on Tuesday evening. A large group of enthusiastic parents attended and were given information to help them support their son/daughter as they transfer from primary to secondary school. Also as part of this programme the first year students enjoyed a Friendship Bonding Day on Friday. This gave the students a chance to get to know each other and help reduce anxiety in the move. The students got involved in a number of team building activities. The feedback was very positive and the students thoroughly enjoyed the day.
