Dorothy Lawlor : Course Co-ordinator
Dorothy has twenty years of experience since qualifying with ITEC and CIBTAC Diplomas in Physiatrics, Aesthetician and Electrical Epilation, she also holds an international CIDESCO Diploma in Beauty Therapy. Her Teaching and Training Diploma is accreditated by ITEC. During the course of her career Dorothy has managed two exceptional Spas, both in Dublin and both achieving industry awards during her tenure. Dorothy has taught in both private and public colleges, she joined Glenart College in 2003. In 2006 Dorothy attained the CIDESCO accreditation for Glenart College. The course currently enjoys 100% academic excellence with all CIDESCO graduates, this level of quality is something the Beauty Therapy Department is very proud of. The Beauty Therapy Department believes in upgrading constantly to stay ahead of the industries needs.
About Glenart College Beauty Therapy Department
The full time Beauty Therapy course started in September 2002. Our Salon is equipped to the highest standard with no shortage of resources within the Beauty Therapy Department.
Each year we accept a maximum of 20 new students, the teachers at the college spare no effort in the pursuit of excellence. A high level of self-discipline and a strong work ethic is important for the success of students. Glenart College has the following examining accreditations; ITEC, CIBTEC & CIDESCO.
We here at Glenart College are proud to announce that we are working with the CIDESCO accreditation which entitles us to offer students the opportunity of sitting the CIDESCO International examination.
CIDESCO (Comité Internationale d’Esthétique ae de Cosmétologie) is the world’s major international Beauty Therapy association. CIDESCO was founded in 1946 with it’s head office in Zurich, Switzerland. CIDESCO has representation in over 30 countries

This is a two year course which is divided as follows:
Year One• Electrical Epilation
• Nail Treatments
After First Year all students are qualified to work.
Year Two• Skin Treatments
• Facial Electrical
• Body Therapy

There are no college tuition fees as this is a funded course. However the total cost over two years of registration, towels, salon materials part kit, one uniform, some theory books and copy notes throughout the two years is approximately €1,200. This does not include the government PLC Levy. Students pay their own examination fee at the end of each year direct to examining bodies - approximately €420. There is a Pay Plan available for this course.

Reflexology Course - €990
September - March each year.
Reflexology is a theory and therapy that uses the feet to treat the whole body, by massaging the feet and treating the body as a whole.
Aromatherapy - €990
Aromatherapy is the use of essential plant and flower oils for their therapeutic properties, either in massage, inhalations or vapours. Treatment can be used for medical or non-medical purposes, for relaxation or healing
